Baka Onii-San!

“….are we there yet?”
Everyone groaned.
“Again Naruto, no.”
“But we’ve been traveling for days! Surely we’re almost there-!”
“Baka!”
Sakura whammed Naruto on the back of the head, which as a result made Naruto cry out in pain as he held onto the bump the injury caused.

Even though they had to travel far away from the village it wasn’t for a very important cause. It was for a D rank mission, a mission in which no body wanted to do. Heck, it probably wasn’t even a ‘mission’. Just something Tsunade didn’t want to do her self, so she made some Genin do it.

Some important friend of hers apparently stopped writing to her. Not really sure why, she had sent the team off to investigate.

“And why couldn’t Granny just write someone else who lives there a letter and ask, instead of having to send us there?”
“She did.” Kakashi began explaining “but no one responded back.”
Naruto grunted and rested his hands on the back of his neck. He then did a side glance to his teammate.
“Ni, teme, you haven’t said much since we left. Not that I’m complaining or anything-“
“Ch, dope, why would I want to waste my time talking to you?”
Naruto twitched.
“What you say?!”

“Well you two knock it off.” Kakashi sighed. “At the rate we’re going we should be there by night fall.”
Naruto jerked his head in the other direction, crossing his arms, and pouted. This mission sucked.

It was getting dark and their feet were starting to hurt. Naruto was about to complain, yet again, until he noticed Kakashi stop.
“We there-?”
“Do you smell that?”
They all stopped what they were doing and took a whiff. It smelt like smoke.
“…fire…”
“Hurry! There’s no time to waste!”
And with that they dashed closely behind their sensei.

The village was under attack, houses where burring, people panicked, and rouge ninja everywhere. Kakashi’s eyes widened. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
“Change of plans, Sakura help evacuate the villagers, Sasuke Naruto make sure no one attacks them while doing so.”
“What bout you Kakashi?” Sasuke asked before pulling out his Kunai.
“I’ll handle the big guys.”
And with that split up and went their separate ways.


“This way!!”
Sakura yelled as she guided the people to safety. Naruto lost his footing and took a step back as the older ninja tried striking him again. Their kunai’s clashed and Naruto pushed back, which unfortunately gave the opportunity his opponent was waiting for. He managed to kick Naruto’s stomach causing him to spit a bit of blood, and send him flying through a house.

“Naruto!!”
Sasuke jumped away from his opponent in order to get away and check on his teammate, but the man lunged and tried to hit Sasuke. Sasuke hissed. Naruto was on his own for this one.

“Heh heh heh…”
Naruto lifted his upper body from the rubble and clinching his stomach, this was bad. Really bad. “You’ve got no where to run little kid.” The man then pulled out a katana with the tip not to for from Naruto’s nose. He smirked as he lifted it preparing to swing. “PREPARE TO DIE!!”

“Mommy!?!”
The man then stopped half way then looked up. Naruto used this chance to preform a ninjutsu and escaped leaving a cloud of smoke behind. The man then realized what he had done and began cursing.
“DAMN IT!! He got away!!’
“Mooommmyyy!!” The man then turn his attention back to the voice. “Where are you?!”
The man smirked devilishly. He gripped his katana tightly and licked his lips as he walked into the burning house through the hole Naruto had made. There inside was a child huddled into the farthest corner of the house sobbing.
“Please don’t leave me!!!”
“Huh, we’ll I’ll be damned.” The girl lifted her head and gasped as she saw the man before her. “We may not of found that ungrateful bastered and slut of a wife, but…” The man then lifted the sword near his mouth and licked off the blood “You will do just fine.”

The girl’s eyes widened, terror evident on her face and her body was uncontrollably shacking. She tried to scream, but it got stuck in her throat and she began choking.
“There there, I won’t hurt you…yet.”
“Damn straight you won’t!!” the man then jerked his head to the entrance of the house to see Naruto grit his teeth and began hand signaling “Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!!” within a matter of seconds hundreds of Naruto’s had appeared. The man was a bit shocked at first but then smirked.
“You think you can scare me with your damn illusions? I’ll fucking ki- AH!!”
With the clones ganging up from all around him, there was no escape from the many attacks that were being done to him.

Frightened the girl tried scooting away since her legs were clapped up from fear and tried to escape but then bonked into something. She looked up, tears gushing from her eyes preparing for the worst.
“Hey, it’s alright.”
Naruto then crowed down to met at her eye level, smiling, and resting his hand on her shoulder. “I’ll make sure nothing bad happens to you.”
“…y-y-you p-promise?”
Naruto grinned sending the poor child a wave of hope.
“Of course I will! Believe it!”
Lost in awe, she didn’t even struggle as Naruto picked her up and dash out of the collapsing building. The girl looked over his shoulder to see the house then looked back at Naruto. She was safe…so long as she was with him…

--- (next morning)

“Who where those guys?”
“I’m not sure.” Kakashi admitted. “But I do know this much. They didn’t get what they came here for.”
“So you mean…they may come and try to strike again?” Sakura asked worryingly.
“I’m afraid so.”

They sat there in silence as Sakura continued healing a patient with her chakra. This was a brutal attack, if they got hit with this again…
“I’ve already sent a messenger to Tsunade to ask what are next move should be. In the meantime, Sakura keep helping the patients.”
“What about me?” Sasuke asked dully.
Sakura’s heart began to speed up.
“You can help me with the patients!”
“I’m afraid someone who’s not experienced in healing would only get in the way of those who do.” Kakashi rejected Sakura’s proposal. “Sides…we need to find out where Naruto went.”


“Oi!! Is anyone missing a child!?!”
“Miss-ing, miss-ing~”
“Anybody?!!”
“An-ni-bod-dy~?”
Naruto had been spending the morning going around the camp asking people if they were missing a child. But after everything that had happened no one felt like talking. Naruto tighten his grip. What the hell was up with these people?! The town wasn’t that big, surly SOMEONE recognized this child!!

“Naruto, what are you doing?”
Naruto jolted then turned around to face Sasuke.
“What’s it look like I’m doing?!!”
Sasuke sighed.
“Naruto we don’t have time for you to be playing with children.”
“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE’RE PLAYING!?!”
“She seems to happy not too.”
Naruto then glanced down at the girl who was smiling merrily and swinging Naruto’s hand. Now that he thought about it, it did seem kinda odd that the girl was smiling after a traumatizing event like last night.

“MEKO-CHAN!!”
They all turned around to see a woman run up to them with her arms wide open.
“Ah, Mrs. Earnna…”
The women then came down on her knees and gave her a hug, crying softly.
“I thought for sure you were killed…”
Naruto smiled and tried to move his hand but found that the girl was still grabbing hold of it. Naruto sighed.
“We found your mother, so you can let go of me now…”
“She’s not my mommy.”
“…eh?”
The lady got up and began explaining herself.
“I’m Earnna, a very close friend of her mother.”
“So then…you’d know where she is right!?”

Her expression faded into a sadden one and glanced away.
“Can I speak to you alone?”
Naruto pointed to himself in confusion but the lady already turned and was walking in the other direction. Naruto then walked over and clasped Sasuke’s hand and collided it with the other one with the child’s, so that the girl ended up holding Sasuke’s hand.
“Keep an eye on her will yeah Sasuke!?!”
“Huh!?!” Sasuke was taken aback “Wait Naruto I-!” but Naruto was already too far for Sasuke’s words to reach him and he groaned. “What the heck am I supposed to do?” He then looked at the child who’s gaze never left Naruto.

“Why did you need to talk me all the way out here?”
Naruto crossed his arms as he complained. Earnna stopped and turned around to face him.
“Meko’s parents were being targeted.” Naruto’s arms slowly began to fall. “Not by just those men, but by many others. A week ago her father was reported dead.” His heart slumped. That poor child. “And…her mother broke. She…She didn’t have the confidence to raise Meko on her own.” Naruto’s eyes widened and he felt his rage bottle up inside him. No, it wasn’t what he was thinking, there was no way a parent would ever-! “She…she disappeared two days ago. Leaving Meko-chan behind.”

Naruto just stood there angry as fuck. What kind of parent would leave their child when there was people trying to kill them!?! Fuck if it wasn’t for him she WOULD of died!! Naruto clinched his fist and smacked a tree. That girl…she was just a kid…

“So you have no idea where her mother could be?”
Kakashi commented as he showed himself. A little startled since he pretty much came out of the nowhere, the lady tried composing herself before answering Kakashi’s question.
“N-no..”
“When you say ‘disapeared’…was she kidnapped or-?”
“She ran. I know because she left me a note to ask me to keep Meko-Chan under my care…”
“May I see it?”
She nodded as she handed him the note that was sticking out of her sash. Kakashi scanned over it.
“Oh.”
Slowly letting his hand fall from the tree, Naruto slowly turned to face Kakashi with his head still sunk low.
“What?”
“Looks like the person we were supposed to check up on-“

“IS MISSING?!!?”
Tsunade yelled annoyed. The minute she had gotten word of what was going on she and a couple of Chunin medic’s came as soon as they could. Unlike the others they only took a day to get there, provided they didn’t stop to rest or camp. They had also brought medicine and food, which the villagers were in dyer need of.

“I’m afraid so.”
“Ch!” Tsunade began biting her thumbnail as she realized something.
“Where are her husband and child?”
“I’m afraid he was killed quite some time ago.”
“…and Meko?”
Kakashi turned his body and his face looked towards one of the tents. Without needing a word in exchange Tsunade understood and jogged inside. Opening the tent she let out a sigh of relief as she saw the girl sitting on one of the medic beds with her feet dangling down and giggling happily.
“Hold still you little-!! I’m trying to put your damn shoes on!!”
Naruto then felt a smack on his head and dropped the shoe and began rubbing his head.
“THE HELL WAS THE FOR!?!”
“That is no way to talk in front of a kid!!”
Naruto glared at Tsunade as the girl burst into bubbly laughter.
“Silly Onii-San!”

Tsunade blew air out her nose and smiled. At lest Meko seemed alright.
“Hey sweety, do you remember me?”
The girl looked up at Tsunade and pointed at her.
“Oba-san…”
“That’s right.” Tsunade smiled. Naruto snorted, which caused Tsunade to jerk her head towards him. “What’s so funny?!”
“You’re not that young, GRANNY!!”
Which of course earned him another smack on the head. Meko had covered and closed her eyes then winced when she heard the sound of Naruto being hit. She then peeked her eyes open through her fingers.
“Onii-san?”
Naruto mumbled a few curses under his breath, then looked up at her and smiled.
“I’m fine.”
Meko smiled and hopped down from the bed and picked up her shoe and tried putting it on herself.

“Meko-chan, sweety, do you wanna come over and live with Oba-Tsun?”
Meko blinked a few times, looking back an forth between Naruto and Tsunade, before looking at the ground fiddling with her shirt and scuffing her shoe in the dirt.
“Hmmm…”
“What’s wrong?”
“…I wanna live with Onii-san…”
“…eh?” ←Naruto
“B-but sweety, don’t you want to be with someone more reliable?”
She then shyly looked up at Naruto then back down.
“But…he promised that he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me…”
Naruto was just lost for words. This girl…wanted to be with him?
“Meko-Chan-“
Tsunade reached an arm towards her.
“No!!” Meko then went over and clanged onto Naruto’s leg. “I wanna live with Onii-Chan!!”
Tsunade twitched. Little brat… she then looked up at Naruto, who gulped at her scary expression.
“I Hope you know what your doing, brat.”
She then got up then walked out of the tent. Naruto stood there trying to process everything that had happened, then panicked as he dashed out of the tent with the girl still wrapped around his leg.
“Oi! Tsunade wait!! I DON’T WANNA LITTLE SISTER!!!” He then tried going after her “GRAAAANNNNYYY!!!”
